We're beyond thrilled to introduce our latest furniture and accessory line, Selamat Designs. Pronounced "sell-ah-met", Selamat is a warm greeting, a welcome, a thank you; the "Aloha" of Southeast Asia where many of their products are manufactured.

Justina Blakeney is the multidisciplinary designer behind the New York Times best-selling books, The New Bohemians and The New Bohemian Handbook, the award-winning design blog, Jungalow.com.

Her wild bohemian style celebrates color, pattern and plans, and inspired her two million online followers to let their creativity run free.

Selamat has created an editorial capsule collection inspired by Florence Broadhurst, the famed 20th century Australian wallpaper and textile designer, fearless globetrotter and iconic style maven. In a time that embraced color blocking and minimalist design, Broadhurst launched a daring venture -- a luxury, hand-printed wallpaper business filled with striking geometric prints, bright chinoiserie themes, and oversized nature-inspired motifs.

A selection of Broadhurst's most iconic designs are reimagined and interpreted by Selamat as carved furniture, hardware, lighting and sculpture, rekindling the timeless influence of patterns in the world of home decor.

Fresh from High Point: Suzanne Kasler's Paris Collection

Paris Apartment collection by Suzanne Kasler for Hickory Chair

In mid-April, we ventured to High Point Market with the majority of our Hoff Miller crew. We had a fabulous time reconnecting with long-time friends and work associates, and we met some lovely new faces. We also had the pleasure of viewing the new collections our manufacturers have just released, while meeting the designers who've worked so hard creating their collections and putting their vignettes together at market.

While at High Point Market, we tend to have "market moments", which we've defined as those special times where we may become giddy, shell-shocked, hearts racing, or we may get touchy-feely with a fabric... you get the picture! While we all had our own "market moments" around town, our biggest collective moment was in Suzanne Kasler's space.

We were aware of the collection's name, Paris, but weren't prepared to feel as though we'd actually arrived in Paris. Suzanne Kasler truly captured the look and feel of Paris with her beautifully scaled and detailed pieces, the lovely color palette, art and florals, and soft lighting.

The Paris collection for Hickory Chair was inspired by pieces that Suzanne Kasler has collected over the years. This new collection is a sophisticated blend of intricately detailed, hand-crafted wood products, as well as tailored upholstered pieces. Throughout the elegant offerings, architectural elements are highlighted with modern details and clean lines for a timeless look.

Launch Spring Market is fast-approaching, and our excitement is quickly growing, especially as we prepare to head to High Point Furniture Market in a couple of weeks.

You won't want to miss our upcoming event, "A Color Story: Fashion & Trends". Nathan Copeland, President of Highland House Furniture will be here to give an engaging presentation on how his team finds their inspiration from some of the world's top fashion houses.

This presentation will be extra exciting since it follows the launch of Highland House's Spring 2018 Collection at High Point Market. The images above are a sneak peak of their new collection.

New Year, New Hoff Loft

As Denver grows, and becomes an ever-so-popular place to live, there is a growing need for furniture suitable for smaller spaces. Millennials are enjoying city living, Boomers are downsizing, and multi-family housing is trying to keep up with it all.

The Hoff Loft, located on our second floor, is a representation, not only of smaller scaled furnishings, but of fresh design within varying price points and time frames. We are excited to provide more unique and innovative options to designers than what the big box stores have to offer. The loft's overall feel encompasses a fun, textural, warm, hygge (hoo-gah) home.

What do we mean by hygge? If you haven’t heard of the term yet, this is our take on this popular buzzword. Hygge is a Danish term that has no direct translation. It is more of a feeling... and that feeling is home, cozy, happy, warmth, family, softness. This feeling is one of the ways the Danish make it through their long, cold winters, and being one of the happiest places in the world, the rest of us are paying attention.

As we have entered a digital, fast-paced age, many are craving ways to slow down and enjoy their loved ones.

Tying this feeling back into smaller living spaces, we believe the two go hand in hand. Smaller, more intimate spaces create the perfect backdrop for hygge to happen, and that is exactly what you'll experience in the Hoff Loft.

You'll find warm drinks here in the winter, and refreshing drinks in the summer. You’ll hear fun, yet calming music while smelling freshly baked cookies (oh wait, we’ve always done that here!).

You’ll find furnishings, accessories, lighting, and artwork perfectly scaled for your loft or small space. But most of all, you’ll want to hang out for a while and feel the hygge around you. We welcome you to stay a while.
