It feels like patio season has officially begun in Denver! Our outdoor spaces are becoming an important extension of our homes now that we're spending so much time at home. We recently introduced you to our new outdoor lines, and now we are focusing on our good friends, Santa Barbara Designs. Not only do they craft one-of-a-kind umbrellas, they support their local community and beyond. They have recently been making masks which they continue to donate to local hospitals, and they even sent some to us!

Their latest Inspirations are centered around California, which is so fitting because of the pride they have in community. I hope you enjoy the wonderfully inspired umbrellas below. An Umbrella Like No Other

California 2020

This year’s Inspirations celebrate the beauty of the great state of California. Santa Barbara Designs was born on the California coast, which they’ve called their home for over thirty years.

The 2020 Inspirations take their design cues from the landmarks and legends that give California its charm and allure. Whether you prefer Malibu or Pebble Beach, the drama of El Capitan, or the glamour of Hollywood, they’ve got a California Inspiration that will make you feel right at home or remind you of a favorite vacation.

The Avalon

Avalon is a charming resort community on the island of Catalina, known for its casual beachside structures that feature pops of pink and aqua. SBD's nod to this island town is their seamed “Vogue” canopy, in French Pink and Aqua Sea, on a white Mirasol frame.

The Pebble Beach

The coastal beauty and legendary golf courses of Pebble Beach keep visitors coming back year after year. This tribute to Pebble Beach captures the essence of both, with their seamed “Vogue” canopy in Jungle Green and Tahitian Blue, on a white Paseo frame.

The Napa Valley

Hundreds of hillside vineyards dot California’s Napa Valley wine region, creating curves and slopes of green and purple, as far as the eye can see. SBD toasts the region with their own Napa Valley, a Petite Flamenco in Jungle Green, with Concord braid trim.

The Malibu Modern

Malibu is more than just sun-drenched beaches and movie stars – it’s a showcase of modern residential architecture, with dramatic structures dotting the coastline. SBD captured the vibe with Malibu Modern, their Stainless Steel Paseo umbrella with a seamed “Vogue” canopy, in Whitecap and Drifting Dune.

The Hollywood Regency

The glitz and glamour of Hollywood’s Golden Age is forever captured in the homes and estates of the movie stars who worked and played here. This grand tribute to the era is Hollywood Regency, which features Cabana Black Stripe fabric on a domed Mirasol canopy. Brass brush fringe and an anodized gold Mirasol finial complete the picture.

The Emerald Bay

Emerald Bay is Lake Tahoe’s crown jewel – an oasis of shimmering greens, turquoise and blues against a beautiful mountain backdrop. A playground for hikers, bikers and boaters, this national landmark is a California favorite. SBD's tribute to Emerald Bay is a Double Decker with alternating panels of Summer Sky and Santa Barbara Blue, with a scalloped valance and Dragonfly brush fringe.

The El Capitan

Yosemite National Park is home to El Capitan, whose iconic granite walls reflect the changing hues of the earth and sky in shades of pink, lavender and green. SBD pays homage to this natural wonder with their Riviera umbrella in Watermelon and Lavender Cloud, with Fern braid trim on a keyhole valance.

The Beverly Hills

The fabled Beverly Hills Hotel has always been the ultimate beacon of glamour, welcoming guests with its signature pink, green and white grand lobby. This BH Hotel is a Double Decker in French Pink and Sage Green, with Natural braid trim on a keyhole valance.

The Santa Barbara Sunset

Santa Barbara is known for its graceful beauty and picturesque location – and for some of the most dramatic sunsets anywhere. The Santa Barbara Sunset features French Pink, Malibu Blue, Watermelon, and Tahitian Blue fabrics, on – of course – an original Santa Barbara umbrella with a teak frame.
