Every six months we travel to High Point, NC to attend High Point Furniture Market. One might think that seeing all the new furniture designs and collections would be the highlight of our trip, but ultimately, getting to connect and catch up with our furniture family takes the cake. It almost becomes a big family reunion, with our time together becoming more and more special each market. We get to catch up with our fabulous reps, customer service reps, owners and presidents of the companies, the designers who've created these masterpieces, and everyone in between. We feel such pride that we get to work with talented and passionate people -- the whole reason we do what we do!
We return from HPMKT filled with so much joy and inspiration, reminiscing on the whirlwind that is market. While we're still feeling all the feels, we want to share it with you -- beginning with our favorite new designs from Hancock & Moore -- plus a sneak peek of what will be arriving to our floor in the next few months. We'll be featuring favorites from our other brands in upcoming blog posts, so stay tuned for more with them. "Century introduced their Gemma Bed in collaboration with Carrier and Company. Fully upholstered and adorned with two-toned metal, its striking brass hinge detail mixed with the curvature of the bed to provide a stylish melding of masculine and feminine." "Curvaceous lines have been a growing trend in European design over the last few years and it has definitely influenced American manufactures this season. I loved the creative ways everyone from Ray Booth for Hickory Chair and Ralph Lauren for Visual Comfort have used these forms to great effect." "The most prominent trend I saw at Market was the interpretation of nature, not only in color (green) but also in product construction and application. The Poppy Armoire by Selamat Designs is the perfect example. It's constructed of a wood frame, white lacquer doors and raised gold and rattan motif. The intricacy was exquisite, a beautiful display of natural sophistication, and a nod to Art Nouveau." "Gilded leaves, an abundance of wicker, along with crocheted light fixtures, complete with hanging, beaded tassels (Selamat Designs), all blended together and harkened back to the Golden era of 1950's Cuba, and in more recent memory, Celerie Kemble's home in the Dominican Republic."
